HOST 2023
Milan, Italy. ALMA presented the LIFE CLIMATE SMART CHEFS project during HOST 2023 fair in Milan at the APCI booth with a talk entitled ‘Climate Smart Chefs: catering at the center of change’. The presentation of the project by Graceanne LaCombe (Project Coordinator for ALMA), focusing on the launch of the Climate Smart Chefs Award, has been followed by a roundtable involving Andrea Sinigaglia (General Manager, ALMA) and other food experts dialoguing on the role of culinary professionals in changing the food sector.

Final plenary roundtable of the LIFE Climate Smart Chefs Roadmap to Vision 2030
The event completes a partecipative process began on 12th October 2022 to develop the Vision 2030, a strategic policy paper based on chefs’ and the food service sector’s inputs to transform policy in EU so that it delivers a more sustainable food system. The paper contains a series of recommendations addressed to decision makers to support the role of chefs as active agents of change for a more sustainable food system in Europe.

Third topic focused roundtable of the Climate Smart Chefs Roadmap to Vision 2030
Online. Participants, divided into three parallel interactive sessions, collectively produced a series of recommendations addressed to policy makers aiming to support the role of chefs as change makers for a healthier and more sustainable food system.

Visit by the Finnish Ministry of the Environment at Jamk
Jyväskylä, Finland. Karoliina Väisänen and Francesca Allievi (Jamk University of Applied Sciences) presented the LIFE CLIMATE SMART CHEFS project to representatives from the Finnish Ministry of the Environment. After the presentation, the project has been discussed during a dedicated Q&A session. The project received positive feedback, with invitation to present the it during the Finnish national LIFE funding info session.

Networking and Knowledge Transfer event
Padua, Italy. First plenary roundtable of the Climate Smart Chefs roadmap to Vision 2030
The roundtable acts as a kick-off to discuss the opportunities for chefs to be part of a wider EU strategy for healthy and sustainable food, with an introduction of the focus topics that will be discussed during the roundtables to come later in the program of the Climate Smart Chefs Roadmap to Vision 2030: healthy sustainable diets, food waste, technology tools for chefs.
